Obedience Classes

Foundations Obedience –  4 Weeks – $99+Tax
In this class you will learn the fundamental skills and techniques that are the foundation for all future learning with your dog. The class topics include relationship building games, body handling, training theory, and teaching basic behaviors such as sit, down, stand, stay/wait, name recognition, leave it, loose leash walking, touch, and recall (come when called).

Core Obedience  – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
Prerequisite: Foundations Obedience
In this class you will add to the fundamental skills and techniques acquired in Foundations Obedience. The class topics include relationship building games, body handling, training mechanics and reviewing basic behaviors as well as adding difficulty and distraction to to behaviors such as stay/wait, recall, & loose leash walking.  New behaviors such as go to place & targeting are also taught.  Core Obedience adds the 3 D’s of distance, duration, & distraction to Foundations Obedience skills.

Advanced Obedience  – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
Prerequisite: Core Obedience
In this class you will add to the skills and techniques acquired in both Foundations & Core Obedience. The class topics include adding the 3 D’s of distance, duration, & distraction to all previous skills as well as practicing for the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC).  Completion of Advanced Obedience prepares students to take the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC).

New Adopter Class – 4 Weeks – $75+Tax
The class is designed for dogs adopted within 6 months from 501c3 rescue organizations.  The focus of the class is to build and strengthen the bond between dogs and their new adopters.  Skills taught include basic obedience cues such as name recognition, sit, down, loose leash walking, and recall.  Please provide adoption contract dated within 6 months for registration.

Puppy Explorer – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
For puppies 8 weeks old and up to 20 weeks of age.  Class topics include house training, body handling, and general obedience with special focus on socialization, impulse control, and novel experiences.  Cues taught include sit, down, stand, touch, name recognition, and introduction to loose leash walking and recall.

Incomplete or improper socialization during this important time can increase the risk of behavioral problems later in life including fear, avoidance, and/or aggression. In fact, behavioral problems are the number one cause of relinquishment to shelters.  Behavioral issues, not infectious diseases, are the number one cause of death for dogs  under three years of age….”

Puppy Scholar – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
For dogs over 20 weeks old and up to 9 months of age.  Class topics include house training, body handling, and general obedience with special focus on socialization, impulse control, and novel experiences. Cues taught include sit, down, stand, touch, name recognition, leave it, and introduction to loose leash walking and recall.


Specialty Classes

Recall Repair – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
Do you want to improve your dog’s recall? Does your dog only come sometimes when called?  This class focuses on recall games & relationship building with your dog to teach a reliable recall cue.
Prerequisites: Foundations Obedience or equivalent

Loose Leash 101 – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
This class focuses on one of the most challenging skills when it comes to training your dog, loose leash walking! In this 4-week class you will teach leash walking manners with real-life practice outdoors and through neighborhoods!
Prerequisites: Foundations Obedience or equivalent

Impulse, Control, & Handling – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
What is impulse control? How do you teach it? If you take this class you and your dog will learn about leave it, dropping a toy on cue, and introductory shadow handling for dog sports like agility.

Tricks – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
Teach your dog to perform tricks like roll over, bow, and play dead.  This class is a pick-your-trick class; you decide what you want your dog to learn!  Interested in earning a trick dog title?  This class is for you!

Fun & Games – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
Do you want to teach your dog to become a disc dog?  Are you interested in learning more about other dog sports like agility of flyball?  This class is designed to introduce you and your dog to new ways to have fun together!
Prerequisites: Foundations Obedience or equivalent

Fit & Fun – 4 Weeks – $99+Tax
This class is all about having fun exercising with your dog.  We focus on body awareness through activity and games.
Note: This class is not rehabilitation or therapy and is only to be used as exercise for your dog.

Reactive Dog Class – 6 Weeks – $135+Tax * to request this class please contact us
Does your dog react to dogs?  To people?  Bicycles?  Balloons? This class is intended to work with owners and their dogs to address behavior issues related to reactivity which are often labeled as “aggression”.

Confidence Builders – 6 Weeks – $135+Tax *at request, please use contact us
If your dog can be described as a wallflower, this class might be for you!  The intent of Confidence Builders is to grow the bond between you and your dog so that they can gain confidence.
